Bandai Namco Teases a New Mysterious Game To Be Revealed on Monday

"Dark Souls" publisher Bandai Namco has launched a website that features nothing else but a countdown.

The website, www.bne-project.com, that shows a timer that hits 00:00:00 on Monday, Dec. 21, serves as a teaser to a mysterious game from Bandai Namco, the same publisher who brought us "Dragon Ball Xenoverse," "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm," "Tekken" and "Pacman" among others. A tweet on Bandai Namco UK wall says, "Can you feel the hunger? #MysteriousGame"

Besides the timer, the website shows an assortment of flashing shapes including a triangle and a crosshair similar to something that indicates a target. Crackling sounds can be heard from time to time. Days ago, a Spanish line that says, "El trabajo en equipo nos mostrara el camino," translates to "Teamwork show us the way" in English, via Google Translate.

Now it flashes, "architecture resonates among the weak," at a certain time. According to Gamespot, the website's source code contains a line, "Find the clues, share them with your friends and discover the mysterious game." As the hype builds up, anticipating fans go the extra mile to fish for more clues. Fans share theories on Twitter and most of them are hopeful that Bandai Namco is teasing on the next installment of a game titled "God Eater." For example, @vhestal claims, "Well we've got the 'Can you feel the hunger?' Inserting a file within a directory called 'God Eater' is by no means an error" after going the website's sound.mp3 file codes.

According to Gematsu, the code was later updated to display with "Tekken" according to NeoGAF user Yasumi. Then again, Tekken was replaced with "MysteriousGame."

Another website has collected screenshots of the brief flashes that the website shows from time to time. There was one screenshot that displayed a German phrase that translates to "Is there still hope?" in English, according to Siliconera. But the most captivating clue was the flash of an image that seems to have come from a "God Eater" game.

It is still around 48-hours before Bandai Namco reveals the game. Until then we can only keep going back to the website for more clues.
