'Final Fantasy XV' Positively and Officially Confirmed to Release this 2016

"Final Fantasy XV" is finally coming out this year.

As previously reported, the release date of "Final Fantasy XV" was rumored to have been leaked by an Amazon Japan listing. Most fans should probably know by now that the said date may just be a place holder as the release date indicated on the listing has changed from June 1 to Nov. 30, 2016 in only two days. Moreover, Square Enix is yet to officially announce a launch date.

Whether the listing had the actual release date or not, "Final Fantasy XV" is confirmed to launch this year and Gamd Director Hajime Tabata has issued a statement on the Square Enix blog site, delivering his warm greetings and some good news about the upcoming title. Tabata wrote, "Happy New Year!"

Then he continued, "We will finally release FFXV this year, in 2016! In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower."

"I vow to you all that every member in the team will do their best to the very last possible moment taking responsibility and pride in their craft. We will do everything we can do to finish FFXV to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure. The whole FFXV team appreciates all of the support from each and everyone one of you this past year. I cannot tell you how much it means to all of us. We'd like to celebrate a wonderful New Year and as we approach the release of FFXV, I'd like to enjoy that moment with you all."

According to GameSpot, the title was announced years ago as "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" until it was renamed "Final Fantasy XV" and adjusted for the latest platforms. And despite the many changes while being shifted to the newer platforms, the concept of "Final Fantasy XV's" storylines and gameplay was preserved.

As good as the announcement sounds, there is still no definite date. But "2016" is maybe good enough to hear after all. It has been a long wait for the fans of "Final Fantasy XV."
