'Halo 5 Guardians' Update: Master Chief's Face to be Revealed? October Release to be Accompanied by 'Halo' TV Series?

'Halo 5: Guardians' creative director Tim Longo has been a bit secretive in his "I actually don't even know if I can talk about that" statement regarding the central character, Master Chief John-117, taking off his helmet. But just because Master Chief "doesn't take his helmet off" does not mean he WON'T, right? This is one thing fans will be looking forward to before the 'Halo 5: Guardians' release this coming Oct. 27.

Fans of the 'Halo' franchise have been looking forward to the latest installment of the video game, and one of the reasons may be because Master Chief John-117 will (or may) be finally unveiling his face in 'Halo 5'. This is, of course, after players have had a glimpse of his eyes at the end of 'Halo 4'. Also known as Spartan 117, Master Chief and his artificially intelligent companion, Cortana, will once again be returning to the latest franchise which is pegged to be a "Spartan Special."

343 Industries has kept the legendary super soldier's face under wraps (pun intended) since 'Halo: Combat Evolved', though players have already had several glimpses of the back of his head and his torso in the previous franchise, reports VG 247.

Other 'Halo 5: Guardians' gameplay to look forward to include its new updates. The game's producer, Josh Holmes, has revealed in his tweets that 'Halo 5' will have new maps, modes, weapons, armor and skins, along with hundreds of new REQs. According to Holmes, once players hit the level cap, they will still be able to continue earning REQ by playing multiplayer, plus they will also be able to use those earned points for REQ packs, as reported by Gaming Bolt.

The 'Halo 5: Guardians' will also be using cloud computing as an aid when it comes to multiplayer maps for coop games. According to the developers, the Warzone is an evolution of BTB, and that some form of BTB would be added after the October launch.

Other news surrounding the release include speculations of Steven Spielberg also releasing the TV series of 'Halo' alongside 'Halo 5' this Oct. 27, as reported by IGN since last year. The game is known to have a "rich universe and lore that surrounds the characters on-screen," as well as an "action-packed combat [that follows] Master Chief and the crazy missions he often finds himself tasked with," according to Game Rant. These are elements that 'Halo' fans hope, will be captured by Spielberg.

'Halo 5: Guardians' is set to arrive exclusively for Xbox One this Oct. 27, 2015.
